I've been thinking about this recently, like albums I do like, some containing my favourite songs, but not one I'd spin back if I was given a choice to relisten to that album or a different one. I can only think of 2 off the top of my head.
Twin Fantasy: Face To Face is great, and Beach Life In Death is one of my favourite CSH songs. But when I listened to it… it was like there was no flow? Like yes the songs are great, each of them's a solid 9/10 or 10/10, but they don't transition into each other very well. Album's an 8/10. Teens Of Denial I like more.
m b v by… well, MBV is a good album but I could never understand the high, HIGH amounts of praise it got. Again, it's got good tracks (she found now, is this and yes, wonder 2, among others…), and they DO flow into each other well. It just felt like the click never happened. Then again, my favourite from them is Isn't Anything, so maybe I just have contrarian taste or something.
