I hear different stories on how art school was really good and how it was really bad. Those who went, did you enjoy it or hate it? Would you tell other artist to pursue art school or keep it as a hobby?

I went to a technical high school for 2d art (so like painting and drawing, not much digital), and it stressed me out most of the time. You cant rush or half-ass it like you can reading or math problems. There will be times you're doing things out of your comfort zone (which means it wont turn out as well), and you might like something but be told to change it to get a better grade. I imagine how much better my art would be now if I kept going though, I learned a lot of things I think I subconsciously take with me. Every just having to practice almost every day was a boon, even if I didnt like it because it was homework.
I imagine some of it depends on professors, and what your goals are. I have some irl friends who went to art college after, so I could chat more with you about what I've heard from them. If you wanna DM, we can!
I imagine similar things might happen for 3d art, I took ceramics 1 and had a lot of fun not being a major, so I'm not sure.
two things awe me most: the starry sky above me, and the moral law within me"
