Horror books and movies I like: Fever dream, bunny, chlorine, haunting of hill house, we have always lived in the castle, Mary: an awakening of terror, Caveat, Lake mungo, Funny games, mad god, possum
Yay, another Mad God-enjoyer! Excellent taste!
I'm going to recommend Threads (1984). I don't know if it qualifies as a horror movie in the typical sense, but it was horrifying nonetheless.
