what do you find most annoying in the fanfic world?
it could be anything, not just the writing itself. tropes, character development, worldbuilding, plot devices, grammar, spelling, etc. there are some genuinely amazing fics out there but everyone has something that bothers them. grammar and spelling errors are probably my biggest fanfic pet peeves.

When the author finds a favourite word and starts using it in almost every single sentence (╥﹏╥)

When wattpad users whined about ao3's anti-censorship stance. If you don't like something like incest, don't read it. Just because a work of fiction contains incest or an incest ship doesn't mean the author supports incest because 9/10 times it's made to be disturbing and criticize incest. If you censor works like that, you open doors for other works to be censored such as queer works.
Unnecessary typing quirks,
I saw someone type numbers
like this some1ne or 0ero,
and they did it like 20 times
(the fanfic wasn't even 8k words)
When ur reading a fanfic about the canon characters and the authors self insert oc shows up out of nowhere. Not talking abt an au or an oc story where the character is there from the beginning, but when Im like 8 chapters in and giggleshitter suddenly appears Im a little thrown off.
trying to resist urge to write "but suddenly...." when something happens
Oh and one time I was reading a fanfic (NOT related to My Chem)
and in the middle of the fanfic,
"one of the members of My Chemical Romance" walked in, author didn't even state which one 😭
