back into flip phone era

My dream is for smartphones to disappear and for us to go back to these marvels !!

I really feel like life was better before modern phones.

Sure, maybe we didn't have everything at our fingertips like we do now with just one device...

But man, life was so much better back then.

And with the way the world is now, I feel like it's eating up our time so much, and I also find it really boring. Normally next month I'm FINALLY getting one, I can't wait!

@lmnzz99 I actually started another thread about how to cut down on screen time.

I can understand that it's difficult; I hope you manage to break free from it :(

It's amazing 😭it's such a shame they cut all that out, damn :( Can Sharp phones handle it better, or is it the same? Or Korean phones too—they're actually really good.

same :(, tbh its just very exhausting to need a phone 24/7 when there's sometimes doing things physically is much better

luckily i live in a small town so i dont gotta worry bout it :) 

does anyone have any recommendations for older style phones rhat still work in 2026? i genuinely hate my phone sm and have been trying to replace it as much as possible with something that is akin to a dumbphone ,,, i used to have one of those LG flipphones from 2018 i think but my biggest issue was the battery being absolutely awful,  i do also only message my best friend on a specific app that ain't whatsapp but that honestly dont really matter .. I'm desperate for a less absorbing and cuter looking phone

Does anyone know any cheap flip phones that work in this decade? I might try investing in one. I REALLY want to get into a fight with my sister over the phone and dramatically snap it closed when it's over. :P

I miss it too. I just think more people would be happy if they switched. All we see is slop on these modern phones. Ai and the constant notifications and endless scrolling. We don't need them. I started only using my flip phone and I feel so much better and connected. I feel smarter, like if I need to search for something, I use a book or read an article! I go out more, I hang out with my family more. Like those bricks really ruined life. no one talks to each other or uses their brains! and its affecting the kids! They can't read, don't go outside, they don't have decent things to watch so they are overstimulated and unable to function. And even in school, how many assignments I turned in that got 0's because of "AI usage". They don't even trust us to turn in a decent paragraph! 

Ive been using the "tcl flip 4 5g" as my daily driver for about two months now and i LOVE it. its so nice to disconnect from the internet and actually live life and be present for once!

OMG It unlocked so many memories! My grandmother had exactly the same one, and I loved listening to Bring Me Back to Life on repeat on it.

I was so upset when I found out that it was thrown out when my parents bought her a new phone😭

i miss my first flip phone and the cute charms and stickers i got to put on it... smartphones just don't feel the same, no matter how useful they are
