hiii my fav is apollyon i think the design is really cool
i suck at the game so i make my much more competent boyfriend play it for me until i fall asleep
hell yeah, i'm a fan of basically all of Edmund's games!
my personal favourites are Judas and (Repentance) Lazarus, because i am a thinly-veiled masochist of the "just don't get hit dummy" mentality lol
i really wish more "2d zelda inspired" games used a (axis-locked / keyboard compatible) twin-stick control scheme instead of the dreaded "attack where you're facing" system; we have the spare inputs for it now, and it makes it somehow both 10x more comfortable and more complex at the same time — especially stuff with melee; the spirit sword is my absolute favourite item fr
@thersgo i furgot to mention my fav item too and idk if this is a weird choice but i love dry baby LOL i saw a post once where you can ductape the baby to you to be invincible to projectiles and ever since ive loved the little guy.. but also tbf i have a soft spot for collectable familiars in any game (like the drones from the risk of rain games..)
but absolutely i need more games to play that i can control with just the keyboard nods nods
It's been so long since I've last played Isaac. Before the Repentance DLC came out, my favourite character to play was Cain. Repentance was absolutely amazing and so many of the tainted characters are incredibly fun to play. T. Lilith and T. Forgotten becoming my instant favourites. I hated those two evil twins whose name I forget...
I'd like to play Isaac again but I am afraid that I've forgotten almost completely everything and will really suck at it now, lmao. I stuck around with it a lot longer than I did Mewgenics, though. I love Mewgenics, but after clearing all of the areas and defeating the final boss for the first time, the motivation to do the final mission just wasn't there for me. Whereas after defeating Isaac's final boss(es) for the first time I just wanted to do it again and again and again.
@ILoveBirds ive never played mewgenics myself but it seems fun.. but i agree the allure of tboi is much greater than the silly cat game.. which is funny cause i think my friends favor mewgenics over isaac LOL
If you have even the slightest interest in it, I really do really recommend Mewgenics. Despite my interest tapering off by the end, the first 80 hours I had with this game were incredibly fun. It's not Isaac but it's still a great game. It's also connected to Isaac, storywise, and very interestingly so. And it has an absolutely amazing and unique soundtrack! A few of the songs reflect Isaac's story as well. It's so good
