As a kid I was SUPER into the Stupid Mario Brothers series. And it was very stupid starting out lol but then like most parodies at the time, it goes from stupid to taking itself seriously as it make sup lore and stories. Lil autist me loved following and growing up with it.
Utauloids singing the Kumikyoku Nico Nico Douga Medley is probably want made me get more into UTAUs than Vocaloids and also my gateway into Utaites as I started getting recommending chorus/mashups of them singing these type of songs.

Ronald McDonald Insanity is what made me learn and get into Touhou. Just like with fumos today, back then people would get annoyed if this was your gateway into Touhou cause "ewwww normies finding out about my niche game through memes"
