like ive been here since early may, and the most i brought up to defect was glitches w blocking and testing privacy stuff (back when i was getting cyberstalked by someone), and i barely saw anything happening in the site suggestion forum. keep in mind theres a tab where id be able to see if defect responds to criticism, and he usually gets to it pretty quick. it has never been as active as it has now.
i remember two different people (and yes, they were from spacehey) making claims about friendrewind using ai (which isnt true), and i feel like ever since said claims were debunked people started finding little nitpicks about the site.
the purpose of adult users being prevented from sending friend requests to minors was to prevent grooming on the site, and yet i still saw someone complaining about it because of "censorship." weird mentality ill tell you that.
there's a post complaining about how the site automatically tells you whose birthday it is because it's a "privacy issue," as if people don't celebrate their birthdays on social media all the time.
even though people have become a lot more aware of spacehey's many issues, every time an alternative pops up people still find a way to say "well [thing] is a problem" or "i dont like [thing] about the site, so ill keep using spacehey," but they either dont bother deleting their pages or they keep constant tabs on whatever alternative they were criticizing. no one thinks that you're obligated to leave spacehey, people are just saying that if you don't want to support the former moderation team's decision to ignore bigotry, real csem, and gore on the site in favor of banning those who brought attention to it (as well as the fact that the new moderation system can easily be weaponized against users) then it's probably best to jump ship.
im also not saying that you cant criticize friendrewind at all, but the majority of it is just "i dont like [thing thad addresses and prevents an issue on spacehey]." if you decide to jump ship because yours sprung a leak, it's stupid to complain about the new ship's material looking unpleasant if that material is preventing it from also leaking.
