So i LOVE the movie and the spiritual sequel Queen of the Damned... I see they're making a new Lestat rockstar tv show. Do i have to watch that new remake netflix series or is it like it's own thing

it (season 3) would make a lot more sense if you watched the first couple of seasons! I havent seen the new season so I am not sure if it could be watched without seeing the first 2 sorry 😔
I want to believe
the vampire lestat has a LOTTTTT of callbacks to the first two seasons of iwtv, since it's kind of technically season three of the show. the series is a lot different than the books (and the movies for that matter) so things would still be a little similar but there are a lot of big changes :P
You should definitely watch it, it has an interesting setting and even though it goes differently it's still worth watching even if it's not too accurate. (Psa if you have a favorite character don't even try to defend them because everyone has issues..)
Oh my gosh I LOVE the whole ITWTV universe! The series makes some changes to the books and original movie but it's all written so well and done in a great way. I would highly reccomend the books too! The book for The Vampire Lestat left my jaw on the floor. It includes so many more details than the movie ever got to go into and the implicationsssss.
I havn't gotten to the latest season yet but I can't wait to when I have the time.
the first two seasons are well worth the watch. i love the iwtv book so much and i really love the changes they made. i feel like people get so wrapped up in things being a perfect 1/1 replica but some changes were so necessary in my opinion
