I've always dreamt of seeing the sealed, "New York Times Best Selling Author" stamp printed onto one of my stories. My family always told me to soar for the highest, and I still find myself slacking despite my younger self's promises to, "Always work at my best".

Art was the first passion I knew I wanted to be serious about when it came to career goal class. I love the way an art piece builds itself and the way paragraphs of writing conjure up the faster my hands work. I loved the way my work would sit on the wall, framed.

One thing came to my understanding as I grew up: Typing is faster. Faster than writing on paper.

I learned to abandon the traditional pencils and paper, and grew closer to the laptop and digital letters printed on a pixelated screen. I began to forget about the sound of graphite etching into lined pages. I forgot about the joy of seeing your work physically, resting below your palms as you worked.

School brought back the memories.

School reminded me of the authenticity before the cyber world was introduced. Assignments piled my folders with paper work that my teachers knew would be looked at differently on a laptop. It changed my life. I relearned how to embrace my handwriting, and enjoy seeing the pages of the paper stack.

And I'm still learning, through my darkest times and my most inspirational moments.

I'm going through dark things but I have people by my side.
