Music |
most of the time music is on. i like deftones, mostly. change (in the house of flies), be quiet and drive (far away), digital Bath. then it slides into Tool, Schism, or A Perfect Circle. waits me out while i wait. Hum, Deerhunter, Russian Circles, Chelsea Wolfe, Nothing. i keep it on. oh and, Краснознаменная Дивизия Имени Моей Бабушки, they are great.

Movies |
I watched a movie a few years ago where almost nothing happened for two hours. Two people talking, sometimes not even that. I kept waiting for a point, some explanation for why I was still watching. It never came. I still think about it sometimes, which is irritating.
Most movies feel like they’re explaining the same basic idea to people who refuse to understand it. This person is good. This person is bad. Now something explodes so you don’t leave early. It’s hard to take seriously.
I like
Stalker
The Double Life of Véronique
Come and See
Possession
Solaris
The Piano Teacher
Paris, Texas
Three Colors: Blue
The Sacrifice
Eyes Wide Shut
The Seventh Seal
Persona
Cries and Whispers
Mirror
The Color of Pomegranates
Sátántangó
Werckmeister Harmonies
The Turin Horse
Hard to Be a God
Funny Games
Cache
The White Ribbon
Melancholia
Breaking the Waves
Dogville
The House That Jack Built
The Killing of a Sacred Deer
Under the Skin
Annihilation
Possessor
Lost Highway
Mulholland Drive
Inland Empire
The Lighthouse
First Reformed
Ida
Cold War
Wings of Desire
Until the End of the World
The Ascent
Leviathan
The Return
Loveless
Burning
Memories of Murder
Cure
Audition
Perfect Blue
and so on. i forget half of them until someone brings them up again. People always ask for favorite movies like it’s supposed to say something useful about you. It probably doesn’t. Half the time I pick something because I was tired and it was already playing. |
Television |
True Detective, season 1
Twin Peaks
The Leftovers
Chernobyl
The Sopranos
Mindhunter
Sharp Objects
Fargo
Dark
The Terror, season 1
Hannibal
The Night Of
Utopia, the UK one
Mr. Robot
Black Mirror, the early seasons
The OA
Generation Kill
The Bridge, the original Scandinavian one
The Bureau
Babylon Berlin
and some random episodes of things people insist are good. sometimes they are. most of the time it’s just people staring at each other in expensive lighting pretending something important is happening. sometimes it works. sometimes you realize halfway through you’ve been watching a very slow argument in a kitchen for forty minutes and you’re still there for some reason. which is… probably not a great sign. |

About me:
“I am an excitable person who only understands life lyrically, musically, in whom feelings are much stronger [than] reason. I am so thirsty for the marvelous that only the marvelous has power over me. Anything I cannot transform into something marvelous, I let go. Reality doesn’t impress me. I only believe in intoxication, in ecstasy, and when ordinary life shackles me, I escape, one way or another. No more walls.” --Anaïs Nin
i have a bad habit of letting things disappear. oops.
yes, i am a photographer, technically. but most of what ends up here is just me and my friends living our lives. the occasional actual photograph slips in. i trust you and your smart brain will be able to distinguish the two.
i take pictures and post them here before i forget. some of them are good, some of them aren’t. i don’t really care which. ну и что! feel free to decide that. i’m not particularly qualified to judge either way. i’m not particularly qualified for a lot of things, actually. but you aren't either so, two can play that game.
this is mostly a place to leave my photos before they disappear. which they probably will pretty soon because i spend an embarrassing amount of time wallowing in self pity. that sounds terrible when i type it out. i'm not that desperate. i just have bad luck with liquids.

i live somewhere cold. can you guess where? hints will not be provided. maybe you’ll figure it out if you crawl your way into my messages. if do you, a nice congratulations will be sent your way. na jó, meglátjuk..
i forget names but remember faces, sorry if you become a victim. you can say hi, it won’t be weird.
i also do art, its pretty neat.
mostly mixed media - acryl, needlework, watercolors, pencil..

would love to meet other creatives, people who like to have a chat, anyone with a strange idea or a story to tell. music, photos, drawings, films, whatever. unfinished stuff counts more. if the conversation goes somewhere good, great. if it doesn't, that's fine too. i am mostly just curious who ends up here and what they have to say before they realize i am probably not that interesting and then the whole thing kind of implodes. which is fine. prob my fault
with white innocence the children fight the devils red evil but end up only fighting themselves

in the land of the dying sun it will be a special one to remember those who spilled blood, their fingers covered in foreign mud
