I lie alone and confused on my deathbed.
Bedsores consume me, and Alzheimer's rots my mind.
A flash of her smile is remembered one last time, before it all fades to gray.
This is how I was destined to die anyway.
I love you as much as the moon shines.
But it doesn't really shine, does it?
I love you as much as the sky is blue.
But it isn't truly blue, is it?
I love you as much as grass is green.
But all grasses aren't green, are they?
I'm panicking, desperately rummaging my mind to remember her pretty face.
And the only thing I'm left with, as I know my time is running out,
is the fact that, maybe you weren't meant for me.
