🌪️ Incredible Tornadic Supercell Near Chetopa, Kansas! (April 19, 2000)

This video is a really special piece of my storm chasing history. I recorded it near Chetopa, Kansas, on April 19, 2000. I was just getting started with storm chasing back then, and I was still using an old camcorder that recorded onto VHS tapes. 😂

My dad was with me for many of those early storm chasing adventures. We spent a lot of time watching storms, driving around, and just enjoying the excitement of being out there together. Looking back now, those memories mean more to me than the video itself.

It’s hard to believe this footage is over 26 years old. This was back when everything was recorded on tape and there was no easy way to upload videos to the internet. I eventually had the footage transferred from VHS so I could preserve it and share it.

This is one of those old videos I’m really glad I held onto. It brings back a lot of memories of my dad and where my love for storms all began. ❤️🌪️
