video was takin in On Tap on Roblox, an 18+ rated game. This was taken either the very day the age verification update was released, or the day after.
Context for those unaware: without verifying your age (either through face or ID scans), you cannot chat with anyone in any capacity, and are locked to the kid-friendly games. The option to verify did exist beforehand in order to gain access to Voice Chat (which I did when VC was fairly new to the platform, unfortunately), but this was when essential features such as chat were locked behind it indefinitely. Upon verification of age, players are placed into age groups e.g. 9-12, 13-15, 16-17, 21+, and are only able to chat with people either in their age group or neighbouring ones. For example, I am verified age 18-20, and can talk to people 21+ and 16-17, but not 13-15 or under.
Many, and I mean many, kids and teenagers, successfully tricked Persona into putting them into the 21+ age group... as you can probably tell in this video. My ramblings were half-internal, but I'll expand on one idea I briefly brought up. Now that everyone HAS to age-verify in order to talk to anyone on the platform, and kids have been cheating the system, they now have access to those games meant for older people, and were making the most of their freedom, which more than likely explained the spike in popularity of games like On Tap.
