The title of this post was inspired by the dearest Elio after seeing the picture of what just happened to me. 
So, I suffer from primary lymphedema, which is a condition that makes it so that the lymph in my legs gets stuck in the vases and doesn't properly flow, which causes my legs to be permanently swollen.
I have been trying shit out, seeking for diagnoses, especially seeking for treatment for more than 3 years now, but the verdict has always been "we're so sorry, you're very young and you don't deserve this but you can't do anything but learn to live with it"
So I did! And obviously it got worse, I had flare ups, missed out on opportunities such as the pride parade of my city... not very fun!
Until, very luckily, my boyfriend's late mother decided to ask directly in the hospital where she was getting checked out and she gave me some contacts to ask information to. That fortunately went well, I had my appointment earlier this year and we scheduled the treatments... which started today!
The (very kind and sweet omg i love her) doctor took my measurements, basically she measured the width of every part of both my legs and then she wrapped these particular bandages all over my lower right leg (basically below my knee).
Now this is what the difference between my two feet looks like (I tried to take a picture the least explicit possible):
You may imagine it's not the most comfortable to live with.
It doesn't exactly hurt (I mean, it does, a bit, but just because of the pressure, so I say that's quite normal), but it's not exactly comfortable either.
You can't see it (obviously), but she even wrapped each of my toes singularly, so that's also a funny feeling...
Now so far I have some complaints:
- one leg now weighs significantly more than the other
- clearly this impacts my balance so walking is negatively funny
- my shoes don't fit anymore!!!!!!! 어떻게
- also some pants don't fit me as loosely anymore. truly heartbreaking
Furthermore, given the delicate material of the bandages, I can't even properly shower!!! I have to wash my body in separate sessions!!! which, to me, is awful, because I'm genuinely only used to washing my hair in the shower. It will truly be a challenge. Luckily my partner will help me the first time(s), but surely he can't be there for me every single time so I'll also have to learn to do it by myself gahhhhhh 
Anyway,,,, we'll see how it goes,,,,, I guess,,,,,,,,
