1st post hi world

I like long form blogging because I can treat it like a public diary. Since my legal name & face isn't anywhere I can share more than I normally would. I used to use SpaceHey for this stuff. I'm kind of sad that it seems to have been abandoned, in part because it was a promising project and in part because I did donate a few times. You win some you lose some. I like the music player and the video tabs here and the fact you can hide accounts under 18 is convenient too.

As for myself my name is Lucien. I'm from the middle of nowhere. I'm 18, I'm a scorpio, I play guitar and sing and my main ambition (aka what i live for) is to make music ideally within a group. I'm saving up to move from TX to OH to live with my best friend, so I'm kind of playing the waiting game in regards to actually doing anything with my life. I like to pretend to be really busy so I don't have to reply to texts. My hobbies include gaming, listening to music, taking naps, and rarely, reading. I have 2 cats (one of which is in my icon, yep thats mine).

My favorite bands right now are At the Drive-In, LeATHERMØUTH, My Chemical Romance, & Nine Inch Nails. I know half of that's really fuckin mainstream but it takes me a while to get into new things since I kinda have to go through the entire discography multiple times when I do like an artist. If you're a nerd my favorite albums from each of those are:

I have lots to say on all of these if you ever wanna chat about it.

I don't consider myself to belong to a single subculture but I do have punk values. I also spent a really long time trying to get typical emo hair and finally figured that out, I'll enjoy that until I'm in my twenties probably.

You might notice I did not list practicing guitar or vocals in my hobbies despite saying I play guitar and sing. You are absolutely NOT asking, "Lucien, if you wanna be a rockstar so bad and have no plan B, why aren't you practicing?" And I am gonna answer that anyway. The first answer is "I have no fucking idea" and the other answer is that I have nowhere to practice vocals even though I want to be a vocalist and frontman over everything else. Guitar is also just really daunting to teach yourself and it requires consistent practice and motivation which are things I've really been lacking for the past forever. I feel a little better lately though, inexplicably, it might be because I've started smoking or something. I thought about putting sticky labels on the fretboard so I can know what notes I'm actually playing and also try to remember CAGED again, and practice chord switching and such. My picking also needs work. What the fuck is a palm mute.  I'm trying to commit to practicing daily, starting tomorrow, of course. I might write a little today though. I miss shitty songwriting. I don't have a solution for vocal practice yet. In the car would be fine if there weren't people out there all the time. 

Anyway I actually did jack shit today. Went to the store and did laundry. Most of my days off are like that. I spent WAY more time out of bed than usual though and I'd say that's pretty good. I might be coming out of a depression -- I guess sometimes you don't actually realize how you're feeling until you're emerging from it? I definitely didn't realize how long I was spending stuck in bed on my damn cell phone. At the same time I've been feeling kind of antisocial. Whatever, it's always a mixed bag. If you were wondering I work fast food and I don't really mind it if only because most of my coworkers are nice enough. WAY better than high school was. God I don't miss high school.

Oh yeah I also collect CDs even though I don't have a photo right now. Trust me it's really really cool and probably the best ever. Later I'll probably post a bunch of photos generally. If that's something you can do on your blog here? Probably?
