🗨️ 4. COLLEGE

Applying is such a chore.
I got into the college of my choice. It was truly an anvil off my shoulders even though my grades were mediocre at best, but there is one thing I have to address.

I applied for two colleges. Both opted for online applications over paper. Now one school, which I had every intention of applying for, didn't get the memo. Now - is it MY fault I lost the application sheet that they gave me at school to give to the teacher? Yes. Was this totally avoidable? ...Let's not get too hung up on what I did, because this college was lame anyway. I went into the Media Studies room on my 'taster day' and when they played their demo reel I couldn't help but hide my head in my hands as my dad (who was one chair away from me) was there intently watching what I can only describe as the GAYEST VIDEO I HAVE EVER SEEN.

I knew going in this college was one of those colleges. Up on the walls posters were plastered championing "diversity!" "equity!" all those good things, but I had no idea media studies would be this way. Now hold your fire, I realise now I LOOK SUPER RETARDED, but truth be told, I thought Media Studies would be more like the Media class I did in high school. Granted, it was originally IT in my school before they changed the curriculum, but it was still drastically different. It was more learning about workflows and graphic design and such whereas "media studies" was all about the sociological aspects of media.

SOOOO I didn't end up applying for that college and I got into the one most my closest friends went to. Alls well that ends well, I guess.
