last camping trip of the summer! sum of yall may have noticed i was inactive for a little bit, and while i admit i did have service while i was camping, i really just wanted to make the most of my time and stay off the internet as much as i could. and i seriously had the best time.
my dad, my brother, and i left for City of Rocks, Idaho, on thursday last week with the intention of doing as much climbing as we could. on the way, we drove through salt lake city, where i got to meet up with my friends who had moved there a few years ago. we arrived in idaho pretty late so we didn't climb at all that night. i spent the drive there listening to a d&d podcast. we got up in the morning the next day and did a three-pitch route first thing. it was about 5.7 i think. WAY too much hiking tho, my feet were tired af. we spent all four days doing a ton of climbing, and the day before we left we spent some time at the swimming pool in a nearby town.
we did some more climbing that night, during the sunset. it was the most beautiful moment. i was sitting on top of this rock in the middle of practically the desert, it was slightly raining and in front of me was a giant double rainbow that stretched across the sky. the rocks surrouding me were glowing golden from the setting sun and the clouds were orange and pink. every once in a while i could hear a coyote howl or a bird squawk. a magical moment.
its so hard to adjust to being back in my home, i wish i could've stayed longer.
