9/11 and War

Before I type this, I want to say that I do not condone what happened on 9/11 at all. It was horrific and many innocent lives were lost that day.

Since 9/11/01 was a fatal day in America, I understand why it is still such a remarkable day for Americans. It is so important to respect the innocent lives lost in any big event, even out of our country, which brings me to my point. I believe that we shouldn't only mourn for tragic events that happened IN America, but also the tragic events America has influenced throughout the world. We have a big day for respecting Veterans, but not a big day for respecting the innocent lives we have demolished in war. Not only lives, but also the homes/towns and ecosystems. 

Of course 9/11 should be respected, but why only remember American lives? What about what we have done that hurt other people?

This is a little off-topic, but the amount of people who have spread hatred towards Muslims rather than spread awareness and remembrance of what actually happened on 9/11 is absolutely disgusting. When will there be a day when America can account for things that happened without stereotyping an entire group of people for what a few of them have done?
