...well, my observation that October and the coming months would be hectic appears to be coming true, to an extent. A couple of days ago, my family received the news that my grandmother was, to put it politely, entering her final days. We knew she'd been having major health problems and (I suppose) slowly dying for almost a year, but at the same time it was believed by almost everyone, including us, that she'd made somewhat of a recovery within the past few months, to the point where she might have been able to live healthily for another year. Unfortunately, that prognosis isn't true.
Right now, she's on morphine, bed-ridden and supposedly her skin's slowly turning green. She could die at any given moment. To tell you the truth, I just don't know how I should feel. I mean, I've known her for all my life, and I have so many good memories about her but I think just how long and stretched-out this situation has become has just...rendered me unable to care that much about it. It's beginning to be a burden on my family's finances, too: my mother has bought plane tickets on numerous occasions just to fly to Ontario and see her, with each time possibly being the last.
That isn't even going into detail about how my extended family is almost coming to blows over her imminent death. I don't know any specifics but it feels like everyone around her is getting a lot more tense and stressed-out over, well, frankly nothing. Yet it feels like it won't take much more for my entire family to split in half.
I dunno. Sorry for the long-winded, sloppy rant, but I just needed to get this shit off my chest. I'm trying my hardest to be an observer to all of this madness, trying to live my own life away from all the misfortune and drama yet somehow I'm pulled back into it against my volition.
