This collection includes 7 works of poetry that covers varying topics, though most are related to mental health! Their titles will come first, and then the poetry. Most of this is pre-written, and I plan on putting quite a few collections on here very once in a while whenever I build up a few of them to post.
The Final Fourth
I'm broken
not in half, no, never in half
Into fourths
I've collected three
But the last eludes me
One fourth away from being human
Always reaching, never achieving
The final fourth is trapped
The barrier is an ugly, rotten thing
Termite infested wood falling away in decaying chunks
But between that wood is the real problem
Iron, cruelly wrought to keep me away from my humanity
Trapping me in my wrath
But what if my anger is what makes me human?
What if, by taking that last piece, by stepping towards that gate
By gaining the final fourth
I become less human
If I am to become perfect, I must be complete
But being human is being incomplete
My flaws, my emotions, y wrath
So what happens if I walk away?
If I leave that final fourth to rot like the wood of it's prison
Then, am I complete?
Fissure
The fissures breathe
They creak and crack
THe walls, they plead
To take them Back
Before the fissures began to break
That delicate moulded plaster
Splintering to reveal the true wall beneath
That...flesh, raw and damaged
Burned
It never healed
No. Instead you had to put that wall up
Seal the wound away
Well, what will you do now?
Now that the fissures have come and
Destroyed your perfection
It's over.
Your perfect ruse, the coverup
The fissures came
And turned it all to dust
Save for the charred flesh that you tried to hide.
Hollow.
Everything is Empty
Skin
Nerves
Organs
Hollow.
Bones crumbled away
Brittle
Cracked
Useless
Hollow.
Muscles withered, flesh dry
Burned
Parched
Weak
Hollow.
Mind flayed and dark
Nothing
Idiot
Useless
Weak
Underwhelming
Not enough
Falling short
Hollow.
I Want
I want to Burn
I want to be etched with fire and brimstone
With lies and truths and everything every
Mother has said to soothe her child
I want to Freeze
To be coated in frost and indifference
To be cloaked with fragile patience
Just waiting to crack and let the rush of the river
Speak for itself
I want to Soar
High above everything that ever harmed me
Away from troubling thoughts and bad decisions
I want the clouds to bring me into their soft embrace
I want to Burn, but I am too cold for fire
I want to Freeze, but I am too warm for frost
I want to Soar, but my heart is too heavy
And so my feet stay planted on the ground
Reaching up for what might've been
Turquoise
Blue and Green
Mix and Mingle
Toss and Turn
Bright and Burn
Blue is Green
Blue is water
Blue is sky
Blue is calm
Blue is clear
Blue is sad
Blue is endless
Green is Blue
Green is growth
Green is new
Yet Blue is old
Green is future
Blue is past
Blue is gone
Green at last
Blue am I
But Green I'll be
For now it blurs, bends and waves
Turquoise now is all I see
My Tomb
The tomb was dark
And cold
And damp
The rot was thick
In the air
In my bones
The stone was cold
And hard
And unforgiving
My voice is raw
From screaming
From pleading
For someone to let me out of this
God forsaken tomb
The Pages of Life
My blood betrays me
Like red ink spilling across
The perfect page of my life
It started out
So blank and white
But slowly became filled
With blotchy mistakes
Do I cover them up?
Do I tear out the page?
Do I start over?
No.
Instead of destroying
My work
My page
My life
I doodle in the margins
And accept the beauty
Found in
Every
Single
Splotch
