THE SLUMS
The air was thick, a polluted black blanket hung over the city. Des walked through the desolate slums as cameras peered in; following her every move like hawks. She soon stood still as if she was frozen in time, annoyed with the constant surveillance. After a few moments, she crouched down to the floor; seemingly tying the tattered laces on her broken-down boots.
