I drifted through a hollow, quiet frost
Convinced that warmth was left too far behind.
I counted all the pieces I had lost
Surrendering my spirit to the dark.
I built my walls to keep the world away
And lived with all the bitterness and fear.
The shadows grew familiar day by day
With numb routines that lasted through the year.
Then out of nowhere came a sudden spark
A softer presence cutting through the cold.
You drew me out and pulled me from the dark
With gentle hands I never thought I'd hold.
Now every color shines with honest grace
The heavy fog is gone without a trace.
The world feels open, vibrant, warm, and free.
One sudden stranger can make you fall back in l
ove with humanity.
