a trip to the store + an unexpected doppelganger...?

ello everyone! my post today is earlier than usual, because dinner is late and i don't wanna write a post at like 11pm because i usually do it after dinner -_- ah well!

everything you're about to read is a 100% true story that really happened to me.

i went to the store today, and i was in the drinks aisle looking for chocolate milk when, i swear to god, famous u2 guitarist david howell 'the edge' evans turned the corner and showed up right next to me.

(ok i don't think it was really him, but this guy sure looked nearly identical to him!)

i glanced at him, as i normally would if a stranger decided to stand in my vicinity, and then quickly exited the area with my chocolate milk and located my brother, to whom i said "i think i'm losing my mind. turn around but don't make it obvious" so he did, and then i said "doesn't that guy look exactly like the edge???" and he was like "yes oh my god"

realistically speaking, there is an ice cube's chance in hell that it was actually him. u2 are recording a new album at the moment, they're not on tour, so why would their guitarist be in a random grocery store in a small town in the canadian maritimes???

...but can you imagine ?

i swear, i almost just walked up and said "hey has anyone ever told you you look like the guitarist from u2" but i didn't because i knew i'd just be embarrassing myself. but seriously. can you imagine ?

my brothers and i left the store with no further incident. but i was going crazy the whole time because literally what??? that was utterly insane.

anyways, before the grocery store we went to the local pharmacy, which is really more of an all-purpose sort of store that just happens to have a pharmaceutical area in the very back of the building. kinda like walmart. anyway i bought three rock candy sticks (i love rock candy ^_^) and almost bought a lipgloss before geniusly checking the tag again and finding out it was almost $15(!!!) for one tube. crazy.

after that we went to the gas station because my brother wanted to look around, and we had our first encounter with the somewhat mythical energy(?) drink known as alani nu. i had only ever heard about it before, primarily through articles and videos talking about how bad it is for you, and here it was, sitting in front of me in a gas station drink fridge. i didn't even know it was sold in canada!

i looked at the caffeine content, and lo and behold, 200mg. that's fucking insane; a cup of coffee only has 95-100! so we started comparing it to other energy drinks in the store, like monster and celsius, and the alani had more than either of those. completely insane.

i've always been banned from drinking energy drinks like that, specifically monster but my mom doesn't really want me drinking any of them, which i can't blame her for. she's paranoid that it'll kill me or something. well i don't mind, i don't react well to caffeine anyway, it just gives me heart palpitations and chest pain and makes me kind of miserable lol. i do love a peace tea every once in a while tho... it's the only caffeine that my body can tolerate :P(just looked it up, my usual flavour only has 12mg!)

anyway, nothing else interesting happened today unfortunately. we did buy breakfast at the grocery store though, we bought cinnamon muffins and some pre-cut fruits, and me and my little brother got chocolate milks while my other brother got an orange juice. we sat outside the store on a pallet of huge bags of garden mulch to eat, since there weren't any 'no loitering' signs around we figured it was fine :3(and we were right, we were there for ~30mins and not a single person noticed or cared ^_^)
