Acid Mary ~ poem

Lovely boys and lovelier girls

Hand in hand

I watch them from this windpane

See them walking in the sun

Oh sweet summer sun

Shining down on them

And perfect skin

I turn away

Anger and pain

It eats at me

Like Virgin Mary's

In acid rains

If I could only be like one

Who walks even alone

In summer sun

Without family disease

Without the disgrace

I could be whole complete

Or I could just a find a way

To be me

Truly me

For I've never known

Or been able to try

The skeletons whisper to me

To turn away

From lying light

You can never be like them

You can never be someone

You can only be a spectre soul

Staring out from dirty panes

Hiding your eyes behind the lace

When Earth's good children

Glance your face

You'll never be loved

At least not in daylight

Come back to us

Drink of the darkness

Kiss the sins

That keep where we are

Let wonder

Let them doubt

Let them make their rumours all

Nothing they can knit or spin

Could defame you worse

Than what you were cursed to be

Upon the day of your birth

I turn my back away from light

And retreating thus into damnation

Honorable daylight pity me

For what in darkness

Cannot be seen
