We know we probably shouldn't be talking about this point blank period which is why we won't go too much into detail but we desperately need help before our parents find out about our addiction or we get into trouble because of it.
We've been trying to stop a rapidly growing addiction we've had for around half a year now for around three weeks, since we are getting extremely scared that we may get caught.
Does anyone have any advice on how to quit or at least make it die down at least a bit?
It isn't a substance nor self-harm addiction so nothing we can find can help, and it's caused by our ex and our bpd aswell so it's hell to limit
We are in therapy although not for the addiction itself, but we haven't seen our therapist in around four weeks and our parents are thinking about taking us out of it
All help and advice is appreciated 🥹

I can’t give any specific advice, but I have a pretty good strategy for it. And that’s basically just having somebody else front, distracting myself, or doing something else I’m addicted to that’s less harmful.
If I want to do X, then I’ll have somebody who isn’t addicted or is more disciplined front for a bit. Thankfully for me, they usually also clean a bit too.
If I want to Y, then I can’t because I’m sooo busy pirating the Prince of Egypt and thinking about the historical inaccuracies, or I’m sooo busy staring at a candle or thinking about what I’m gonna borrow from my local supermarket.
It will absolutely just feel bad at first, because no dopamine rush, so coping with that lack of happy with sad music also helps. Good luck to you
Also fuck your parents for taking you out of therapy. That’s cruel
All of us are addicted sadly, even Lanyon and he HATES it, We've been trying to not take stuff with us that makes it easier to do our addiction and it's helping but sometimes we forget to not take something and then we have another relapse :(
Our parents are thinking of taking us out because hey Believe we have nothing to work though, since they don't know anything of substance about our life it's hard to prove them wrong

Ah, that's a shame about all being addicted.
Maybe distracting yourself, then, if you're easy to distract? Or maybe a sort of reward system, where you eat a food you like or play a game you enjoy if you resist the urge?
If your parents are conservative or judgemental, I highly suggest keeping your issues out of their knowledge, especially if their form of "correcting bad behavior" means taking away coping habits or hurting you.
