aftershock day 1-4 - blog #5 ━━ . °‧ (☆□☆)

IM SO LATE TO POST ABT AFTERSHOCK but its okay and i was lowkey EXHAUSTED after i got home from it SO WORTH IT THOUGH OMGGGGGGGGG

day 1:

bands i saw: Lit, L.S.Dunes, Hawthorne Heights, The Starting Line, Hot Mulligan, The Used, Sublime, My Chemical Romance

tbh actually i think day 1 (and 2) mightve been the least eventful since i was near the back and everything but still really fun nonetheless!!! I hardly knew any of the songs of the bands I saw that day except their most popular ones,,, tomato tomato boo yea im sorry T3T. My faves this day were probs Hawthorne Heights, Starting Line, Sublime, and MCR. The singer of HH had this short speech which I really loved. I cant remember exactly what he said but it was about loving each other, the community we have together, and how we need to live together in the moment and not constantly online. Honestly ik im on my phone a lot when im alone but I srsly hate it and when I can I always try to do stuff without it. ok ok back 2 aftershock rant. THE STARTING LINE dude  o my god   i loved the bassist/singer of TSL his stage presence was so amazing and he was like jumping and running around stage it was so silly. Hot Mulligan I only saw for a little bit before moving to The Used stage and then sublime I only caught the last like 2 songs before MCR started and I actually got way closer than I expected which was liiike middle but closer than the sound booth things i think. I actually have never watched mcr live (videos or irl) so i wasnt sure if theyd have the whole performance or not BUT THEY DID AND IT WAS SO AWESOME. iiii think thats probably it for day 1,,,,

day 2:

bands i saw: Insane Clown Posse, Senses Fail, Alexisonfire, Underoath, Coheed and Cambria, Limp Bizkit

dude  omg i LOVE JUGGALOS. ok maybe not LOVE but i do reeaaallyyy like them. I find their culture really cool and the makeup and allll of it. I think my love for them comes from my love of clowns which i used to and still slightly am obbsessed with. Ik clowns and juggalos arent the same but yeeeah. ICP was good tho and it made my dad want to get into their music and even juggalos. Senses fail was good too and the singer had a small speech as well that was pretty similar to the Hawthorne Heights singers but in SF he added something about "fuck therapy" and how his therapist he spent a ton of money on for so long was gaslighting him and i felt really bad for him like wtf no one deserves that and who tf is this therapist im about to punch this dude. senses fail did put on an awesome performance though and i think that was my first time hearing their music or like actually taking it in cus  i didnt know ANY songs. ALEXISONFIRE OMG DALLAS GREENS VOCALS WERE SO HEAVENLY LIKE WHAT. also the screamer is so good and so were all the band members i would totally see them perform at their own concert. underoath was SO good and the keyboardist was headbanging like crazy for like 1-2 mniutes straight like woa how r u playing and doing that at the same time. coheed and cambria was so good and iirc they got decor for their set whhihc was cool to see and also they sounded sooo good. limp bizkit we were in the back but somehow moved to like the same area thats around the sound booths and they were really good. i think for their last song they brought a kid up to sing a song with them and he said his dad died 3 years ago and Limp Bizkit helped him get through it and that made my heart melt like aw ohmygod thats so sweet he gets to go up on stage with someone who saved him.

day 3:

bands i saw: Saosin, Chiodos, Sleeping With Sirens, Babymetal, Pierce The Veil

ooooookay saosin and chiodos were kinda uneventful since i was in the back (again) but for chiodos i moved up near bariicade for sws (and ptv) and they put on a good performance but there were crowdsurfers every 5 seconds so i kinda didnt get to watch thaat much of chiodos and im not complaining abt crowd surfers i mean its a festival you gotta expect that and of course help the crowd surfer get across so yeah. sleeping with sirens was super good i actually ended up in the mosh pit for a little bit before moving back up near the front. i loooved their set they were probably the band i was 1st or 2nd most excited for that day. Babymetal was soo good as well and i also didnt know they had like  lore with the kitsune??? thats so cool it actually made me want to get into babymetal. also there were a lot of grown men around me who knew EVERY WORD TO EVERY BABYMETAL SONG LIKE EVEN THE JAPANESE PARTS I WAS SO SURPISED I LOVED THEIR ENERGY SOO MUCH DUDE the whole crowd for babymetal was super hyped and energetic loooved it i love crowds like that. In the wait for Babymetal to Pierce The Veil there was this small group of ppl talking to each other behind me and one of the dudes was like from alaska or like he lived there and i thought that was so interesting. pierce the veils set was so good dude it was just like the petco park performance which i didnt expect i got so excited omg. i was really close to the barricade like a SINGLE person away but the asshole in front of me kept elbowing me and like looking at me like a piece of trash like damn dude sorry im being pushed into you it literally is not my fault and we are all smashed in here like tunas but you could at least NOT elbow me. excluding that dude who pmo the set was SO good dude omg. ALSO during babymetal i just remembered there was this guy with a beard who looked like late 20s-mid 30s who was keeping himself and me grounded and balanced by holding onto my shoulders and it was actually really nice and relaxing and he kept making sure i was okay (for reference im 5'3 and really scrawny) and yea he was just really nice and it was comforting to have someone there with me cus i was alone most of this day and day 4 since my parents sat outside the crowd and watched from far away. but yea short appreceation moment for beard guy thank you for making sure i was okay and being awesome. OKAY umm back to ptv yes ok umummumummmm dude my memory sucks. OMG SOMEONE BROUGHT A CARDBOARD CUT OUT OF THE PIC OF VIC IN THE MICKEY MOUSE SHIRT AND IT WAS SO FUNNY I THINK THE CAMERA PPL SHOWED IT IN THE CAM FOR A SECOND AND THEY WERE ALSO KINDA RIGHT BEHIND ME UGH I LOVED IT LMAO. and then after ptv set i actually didnt have my phone on me i didnt have it for the whole day or for any of the days i had it in a backpack that my dad had on him the whole time so i was lost for a bit trying to find my parents and then i saw my mom walking towards the stage and i ran over to her and she was like omg im so proud of u and it like made my parents trust me on my own since i was able to handle the insane crowd and temperatures without passing out or dying or getting kidnapped so yeaaayyy.

DAY 4:

bands I saw: I Set My Friends On Fire, Emarosa, Drop Dead, Gorgeous, I See Stars, Hail The Sun, From First To Last, The Home Team, DANCE GAVIN DANCE.

OMG  DUDE I WAS SO HYPED FOR DAY 4 I WAS LIKE RUSHING MY PARENTS AND MYSELF AND EVERUTHNING TO GET TO THE FEST EARLY SO I COULD GET A GOOD SPOT AND D  D A DSFJGRHUJFESIGRDJRIUD OMGOGJFBD I  GOT TO GO TO THE AFTERBURNER MURAL AND I LEFT TIM A CANDLE WITH THE JURASSIC PARK LOGO ON IT AND A LITTLE NOTE SAYING "Rest In Peace Tim Feerick Forever in our hearts". i love tim man his basslines are so awesome and ugh he didnt deserve to die so early :( RIP.  after seeing the afterburner mural we went to the park and got to see all of ISMFOF's set and after their set ended i got barricade. emarosa was really good they didnt play any old songs when jonny craig was in the band but reasonable since they have a new singer and everything. his stage presence was so fun and their newer music is actually really good! for Drop dead goregous and I see stars i actually didnt know any songs but they were really good still!! Hail the sun was SO good and for a few songs donovan sang like playing drums and he also came near the barricade but not where i was but it was super cool they did an awesome job and donovan spoke about the genocides a little bit which i loved so much and it really made me appreicate the band more than i did before. i didnt know any FFTL songs ,,, SORRY. omg the home team was so good dude i was on the left middle side of barricade so the bassist was right in front of me and he was moving like crazy doing tons of spins and dance moves and super good bass lines like wow i should maybe get into the home team. OMG after the home team and waiting for dgd this guy who looked like young jon mess from ~2007 if he was like a softie was right next to me and he was so pretty dude omg and his hair was so pretty uugggh he gave me such gender envy im sorry but like  besides that he was really cool he was telling ppl abt his work and talking abt dgd and OMG everyone was (obviously) talking about dgd and even though i didnt really talk to people most of the time it was so nice being surrounded by people who are into something just as much as you. At home i only have my dad to talk about dgd to and at school i only have one friend i get to talk to in 1 period every other day but i never get to talk about dgd (when we are infodumping to eachother) cus she kindaaa doesnt listen to me but #fairs  its okay i kinda dont mind even tho  i do and its the thing im most passionate about itdidnt bother me that much cus like who wants to hear someone talk about something you dont know or care about.    anyways dude omg dgd was so freaking good i was screaming so loud (im sorry i actually didnt realize how loud i was over my excitement). i was in such awe seeing them all on stage and last time i saw dgd it was during their pantheon tour in portland and i was like right behind mosh pit area but this time i was RIGHT in the FRONT. all the songs were AMAZING and i was singing(screaming) along to every lyric and god i was moving like crazy AND THEN DURING BLUE DREAM ANDREW CAME TO THE BARRICADE AND WHEN HE GOT RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME I WAS SCREAMING SO LOUD AND HE GRABBED MY HAND. TWICE. I WAS LIKE OHMYGOD OHMYGOD OHMYGOD THE BAND I LOVE SO MUCH AND THE GUY WITH SUCH LOVING AND POSITIVE ENERGY WHO I LOOK UP TO SO MUCH AND IS SUCH A COMFORT TO ME IS HOLDING MY HAND AND HES GRIPPING IT SO HARD AND DOING THAT THING WHEN YOU GENTLY SHAKE IT TO LIKE  DEEPEN THE HAND HOLDING?? YKNOW?? IDK HOW TO DESCRIBE IT BUT I WAS ABOUT TO START CRYING DUDE. dgd actually means so much to me they have made me rediscover my passions and love for life and before i got into dgd i had no plans at all for life after high school but now i really want something i want to be like them and it has became a dream i cherish and put so much work into by playing guitar and bass and saving for a drumset and learning how to fry scream and even trying to push myself to get better at socializing and going to local shows and supporting others dreams so much i like  idk i just cherish dgd and now my own dreams so much because of them that i wont let death or fear get in the way of it. i think it was after blue dream during one of the other songs there was a crowdsurfer and as i was helping lift them over the barricade my neck like bent over the barricade a lot and i heard a loud pop from my neck and my glasses flew off so now everything has looked like what it looks like when you blur your vision while spacing out. ive been saying im okay without glasses but i can barely read its actually so bad but idc i think i look slightly better without glasses. anwways dgds set was absoluelty insane phenomonol amazing loved it so much i love dgd omg ojhfgjdgdfhusid. and also during the wait for dgds set this guy behind me who literally TOWERED OVER ME in height complimented my dgd hoodie i got from their pantheon tour and we were talking for a bit but idk if he  knew how young i was?? cus  i think he as like 20 or smth and i got kinda creep vibes and we also exchanged phone numbers but after like  a few days i ghosted him   sorry. i feel bad.  dude while walking to the rideshare area there was this guy either in front or behind me and my parents and he could hear me ranting about how the day was cus i was also telling my parents and he was like REALLY into listening it was funny and he was walking past or we walked psat him???? i cant remember and he added a small comment before walking away and he had like a small laugh in his tone if that makes sense and he was like "oh sorry i was listening to your story and it sounded crazy like wdym __ and ___? hahaha ____ okay sorry for listening bye now you guys are hilarious" or somehting like that and he said it in a really friendly and sweet way like omg i cant belive someone was listening to me but at least he thought it was funny which i did too and yeah idk it was just a really nice interaction lololoololol.

uuuh what esleee oh yeah the day after we went to orphan which is a breakfast place that andrew (iirc) said that dgd goes to whenever they are in sacremento so i wanted us to try it out and i got this vegan pumpkin french toast thing it was sooo good dude alll the food in sacremento and aftershock was really good. then i got my ears peirced at this random spot in a mall andd yea. sacremento is really nice and i wish i lived there instead of in vegas but ill move there when im older cus god i cant stand the desert. also somehow during aftershock i didnt have ANY body pain or anything and i was so hyped and energized for it all but the second i got back home i was sleeping all day and my body finally got hit with all the pain inflicted at afterhsock so ive kinda been sleeping all day every day after school since aftershock but the sleep has been so nice cus i usually dont sleep for long periods of time cus i have trouble sleeping but ive been sleeping so hard and even at school ive been getting like maybe an hour and a half worth of sleep everyday in total cus ive had sm trouble staying awake.  ookay thats all i cant wait for next aftershock and i have permission to bring a friend with me so hopefully i wont be alone for most of it in 2027 i cant wait to see dgd again and omg im so excited for dgds new album coming out next spring(?). ALSO BEING IN SACREMENTO + DOWNTOWN SACREMENTO IS SO COOL CUS THE WHOLE  TIME I WAS THINKKIKNG ABT IF DGD HAS BEEN ON THESE STREETS AND TO THESE PLACES CUS LIKE DGD ORIGINATED AND WAS BORN IN SACRMENTO GIFDHSIDHJEUGRHFDJ okay gooodbye i might edit this and add some photos later but maybe not
