SPOILERS
I recently read All the Lies We Steal by Monty Jay. This book was really good; I would give it 4/5 stars. I really enjoyed the murder mystery. I swear I have never had friends as good as the Hollow Boys. Alister Caldwell's family is one of the town's founding families. Everyone thinks he has it made in the shade, but he doesn't. His family only had him because his brother has health issues and may one day need parts. If you have ever seen the movie "My Sister's a Keeper," that is kind of how it is. His family doesn't consider him part of the family, though. It broke my heart to know that when the holidays roll around, he has to go to Sills's house because his family doesn't want him there. Everyone thinks he's just an asshole, but they don't know the reason; he's actually a really nice guy. And I swear no one loves a misunderstood asshole more than me, I promise. The female main character is Blair Lowell, who comes from Texas. Her father did crimes to get by and put food on the table. Her mother got her brother to get her into the school he works at, Hollow Heights. Blair and Lyria caught the Hollow boys killing someone in the cemetery. They come to find out it's all the avenge rosemary Salis's girlfriend that had died. When Alister tattooed his initials on Blair, I had to put the book down and do the happy dance. It was definitely heartbreaking any time they talked about Silis and Rose. When they dove deep into it, I was in bed trying not to wake my boyfriend with my crying. I had some things I accidentally spoiled for myself by looking at the authors Tik Tok account. I was so mad that I did that to myself and still kind of am. One thing I found out is that this book is apparently the worst in the series. That being said, if you liked this book, just wait till All the Truths We Burn. If you thought Alister Caldwell was explosive, just wait till you get to know Rook Van Dorran better.
