Hahaha the title scared me for a second. I'm glad it was just muscle soreness
Honestly, getting thrown straight into competition practice on your first day sounds like the most chaotic introduction possible, 500 m is no joke, so the fact that you made it through is already something to be proud of
And the best part is that you still came away thinking, "I wanna keep going." That's usually a good sign that you've found something you genuinely enjoy. The soreness will disappear, but that feeling of discovering a new hobby is worth holding onto. I hope u keep at it, you'll probably look back at this first practice and laugh once 500 m starts feeling easy

Well, just take some rest then maybe do it again once you recovered.

Whoa dude canoeing sounds so fun and cool for sure but I probably don't have great arm strength to keep up for that long ;-; lolol
Hope you have fun if you continue to go canoeing for sure!!!
