Anyone who thinks being alternative has gone mainstream CLEARLY lives their entire life on instagram and tiktok.
And most of these people don't even understand that alt is not a style IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MINDSET AND YOUR MORALS
As an alternative person myself, people try to make fun of me because i have a side bang and I like wearing eyeshadow. They tell me my music taste is trash and my sense of style sucks. They mock me by saying I'm trying too hard to be different, or by saying it's "just a phase".
And some people even get recorded when they step outside just because they look a little different.
Step outside for once and look around you.
Just because your fyp is filled with alt people, doesn't mean the whole world is (˶ˆᗜˆ˵).

Wow making fun of alternative people is back 😭 love how I see people thirsting for goth girls but when they meet an actual one they bully them and harass them
I haven't experienced anything myself but I'm also really only ever out with my family and boyfriend and both my boyfriend and my family would probably kick that persons ass. I was pretty socially isolated in school somewhat, no one really bothered me they just didn't interact with me. Maybe it's my area but I actually get compliments a lot. Being weird is pretty celebrated here.
Who is saying alt is basic?
it's literally supposed to be the opposite, I lowkey don't mind it being mainstream cuz it gets people to come out of their shells but basic... That's just rude
some people on tiktok and insta have been saying this. its really nice that where you live people understand and accept you (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)
maybe it'll just take time for me, because people in my surroundings are pretty conservative in their ideals
i wouldn't mind alt being mainstream either, however not just the styles but the mindset as well!!!

There's conservative people here too but it's a pretty good mix and none of them like harass anyone. My parents are conservative Christians but they are really chill and not against the way I dress at all as long as it's appropriate. I'm religious as well so I do agree with dressing appropriately. If people have problems with you here they do not tell you and typically go behind your back (which isnt great either but atleast I'm not getting jumped) but yeah I think a lot of that thinking is outdated and some places/people just need to adjust to the new generation still
