...went to an ice cream social last night. Made awkward small talk to people I haven't actively spoken to since before the pandemic. It wasn't my idea anyway, because a certain someone in my life (you will never read this but you know who you are) said I was going without asking me. The ice cream was okay but I left after like ten minutes. Stuck out like a sore thumb...
...continuing my SWAT 4 playthrough: it is hard as balls and that's probably because I'm approaching it from the viewpoint of a traditional FPS game and not the realistic simulator that it is. I'm always trying to rush ahead and be aggressive instead of being methodical. Case in point: had trouble with the garage level last night, soon as I started actually using the optiwand and taser I brought along and not try and solo everything I got results.
...I have been brimming with ideas for music videos as of late. What has accelerated this line of thinking is the fact that I've seemingly stumbled right into a deluge of old VHS footage. It would appear that my year-long dream of making a 40-minute-long found footage nightmare may possibly become a reality; stay tuned?
...friend went to see Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie tonight. Apparently the former puts on a good show, seemingly at the cost of, yknow, being a decent human being. I figure that wearing Marilyn Manson merch in public is probably a very easy way to get beat up.
...it's another boring week of university! Like pretty much every other week! Hooray!
...now listening: "Silverfish Trivia" by Robert Pollard. He originally slated for this to be an album but, in an amusing twist of fate, saw a bunch of women dancing to a bar band while drinking, figured they'd also dance to his album, and saw that as reason enough to scrap most of the songs and turn the remnants into a softer, gentler EP. Probably his most singer-songwriter-y release, which isn't derogatory at all because I'm honestly pretty fond of when he writes songs like "Circle Saw Boys Club". My ideal Pollard release would be an even mix between songs in the vein of this release or something like Moses on a Snail and then a bunch of his more outwardly psychedelic tracks.
