《Angel rants: Going against the wishes of minorities while still saying your an ally》

《Rant i thought sounded smart i had while on call w my friend》

《Quick note this is gonna be mostly about the gyaru subculture so if your not really interested id suggest skipping》

《Somthing that i see alot online is people appropriating poc culture but then saying that since its out of love it cant be racist. I mainly see this within the gyaru community mostly with possible larpers but its not just in gal circles i also see it when it comes to the topic of black culture in general and the whole thing pisses me off to no end. For one reason and one reason alone, you cant go against the wishes of minorities while also spouting bullshit about how much you love em.

first of all im black and queer (idk if the queer part is gonna come up just wingin it rn) so i do actually have a right to speak about these things and if you dont have a nuanced take other than "oh but i go to protest"/"i have black friends" please fuckn shut up》

《now lets talk bout gal history cus its the only thing im somehwat knowledgeable bout (still a baby tho so pls do ur own research and inform me if i get anything wrong)~

Gyaru started as a trend amongst young highschool aged girls and was baised off western trends and culture, not just western culture but specifically black culture. This led to girls wearing more american style clothes, bleaching their hair and most importantly tanning their skin. In japan and most of all asia darker skin is considered less desirable because in the olden days farmers worked long hard hours in the hot sun while nobles stayed in their houses and since being poor is ugly that ment that being pale was beautiful however gals rebelled against that notion that is still VERY popular in modern times (this led to the miss info that gal is supposed to be ugly which is not tru but thats a whole other thing). This led to lots of gals being shamed and since they where already getting kicked out for wearing "inappropriate makeup" and breaking school rules by bleaching their hair they decided to go even more extreme. Bolder makeup, bigger bleachier hair, longer nails, and, the worst thing to ever come out of gal, yamanba blackface. Girls where painting their skin shades that didnt even exist in asian stores, shades darker than a good chunk of black people so dark that it could be mistaken for black (some probably did use actual black).

In international gal society this era is seen as a dark (pun intended) time for gal rep but some numb nut brain dead head empty fuck faces would go on to defend this behavior. They would say that since the girls where going against the pale beauty standard they werent doing black face but instead black appreciation their blacked out faces wherent just a fashion statment but actually them fighting for the representation of the black community. Others in this group would instead say that since japan isnt part of the west they wouldnt have known about blackface and that they should be coddled and given leeway for their past actions. Others are just racist.

Now idk bout japans knowlage about black face but i will say that since they are connected to the same internet we are and are influenced by our media (im not forgetin bout sambo and hanna sanrio) they should atleast try and learn a bit about the history of the people that inspired them (but alast all our shit is taken as the theives spit on us as they run away). But it is tru that japan is not western ill give them that but japan is still a racist xenophobic ass society and they arent an undocumented tribe plus this mindset comes from asian infanilizers so i hesitate to give it any credibility. On the other hand that little "oh their doing it because  their fighting for black rights" thing now that is just plain dumb. Like i said before gyaru was a trend yes it was a movement but it was a trend gals shat on other gals there was fast fashion it was all money and popularity so i highly HIGHLY doubt a bunch of 14-18yr where thinking to themselves as they rubbed black eyeshadow all over their face "i hope this will convince people that you can still be beautiful even when your black" to the it was just make up nothing more nothing less. It was bold, unreasonable, unconventional makeup. Along with gyaru not being super political the gal makeup that had black face was the actually "ugly" part of gal, Manbas. Now as a nonpracticing manba gal (pls im trying my best my parents wont even let me wear lashes) i dont think manba is ugly atall infact to me its the purest form of the gal but to outsiders manba is disgusting and its name litteraly is a reference to a japanese yokai/demon so yeah, i really dont think it was about being beautiful while also being dark.

Even if it was there truly is no way one, in this timeline, can actually do a non offensive form of blackface. Even if you where to put up a anti minstrel minstrel having white actors portray the plight of the black life there would be no way to do such a thing without actively participating in one of the things that hurt black people the most. We can see how ironic it is for a white person in a chinese costume with their eyes taped and their skin yellow going to a "stop asian hate" protest is how can we not see it when its instead manbas in black paint, japanese girls wearing box braids (i forgot to bring that up !Σ( ̄□ ̄;) oppsises), white influencers saying the n word, white butches mimicking studs, blah blah blah the list goes on (sry i couldnt figure out any non black inctances but my fyp only shows shit that affects me if i get some ill put em in the comments) its actually insane to me that people cant get such a simple thought into their thick fuckn skulls

When a minorities say no

IT MEANS NO

DONT FUCKN DO IT

ITS NOT THAT HARD

gawd the stupidity of ppl is insane this issue is probably also related to rape culture but that aint ghe topic of today plus im not smart enough to fully eloquate my thoughts on it or understand it in general but i know its because those mother fuckers see us as less than

dont say slurs, dont wear cultural clothing that has deep deep hitory behind it, and for the love of god stop putting your greasy spaghetti hair in braids or else ill make sure those damn things fall out (dni if your a cracker w dreads)》

《Also for your peace of mind non racist manbas plus black gals ( ≧∀≦)ノ

This one is iffy could be controversial

Im lwky race blind cus race is a social construct so pls tell me if this isnt a black gal

Fuck u maoma》

《Ps this is my first ever long essay like blog so tips are appreciated (i have English pre ap 2 next semester so i could use it) idk if im gonna do another one of these but i have some other thoughts bout rcta and gal culture》
