Animal Fun Facts #1

1. Reindeer/caribou of both genders, unlike other cervidaes (true deer/elk/moose), can grow antlers.Β

2. Speaking of reindeer and caribou, reindeer are just domesticated caribou.

3. Gender dimorphism is prominent and conspicuous in birds. For example, let's take a gander at the peafowl (more commonly called the peacock). Only the males have the stunningly pulchritudinous tail feathers their species is known for. There are other examples, such as cardinals, wood ducks, eclectus parrots, and so on.

4. Because of how powerful moose are, a healthy bull moose could easily fight and win against a mountain lion.

5. Octopi/octopuses (and cephalopods in general) are remarkably intelligent and perspicacious. They have fantastic well-developed brains. Because of their erudition, they are protected by animal testing regulations that typically aren't withheld for invertebrates.
