BECAUSE LE SSERAFIM KILLED MY GRANDMA OKAY

WHY DO KPOP STANS HATE ON LE SSERAFIM SO MUCH. WHAT DID THEY EVEN DO BRO. :shakefist:

Genuinely all the criticism boils down to "they're not robots and not perfect and I don't like it". Like the most common hate is about Eunchae's voice or their dancing or breathwork.

Like first of all, when eunchae debuted, she was SEVENTEEN. I'm eighteen now and I remember 17 clear as day and it sucked ass. It was genuinely the pits of hell like imagine waking up in the asscrack of dawn, you're being ghosted, nobody at school likes u and all your outfits look wrong and you hate your style and to top it off you have 5000 breakouts.

Now imagine that times a THOUSAND because you have to train almost every day all day with absolutely ludicrous sleep schedules. Imagine being attacked with a hate train so vicious that they threatened to find you and kill you because you were not a perfect singer AS A CHILD. And mind you, it's not the singers that choose how they sing in K-pop, it's the company and producers and collaborators. Literally every word you hear has been rerecorded over and over each with a different prompt to the singer. I do think that Hybe has a problem with creating stuff that is uhh very eclectic (aka gnarly, celebration) for the sole purpose of it going viral to how divided opinion is on it. I also think that scouting, debuting or training children is just morally wrong.

It's a good moneymaking tactic but it is genuinely a horrible place to put an artist in. It must feel so uncomfortable to be forced to make a song your heart doesn't gel with at all, and then film so much promo in the midst of a hate storm. It makes me really sad to think about.

My second point is, not all of the members even trained to become K-pop idols. Kazuha for example spent her whole life studying ballet. I can't even fathom how big of a change it must have been to go from that to contemporary dance WHILE singing. I think that change is so impressive and the fact she sounds gorgeous too is insane. A lot of people hate because their songs maybe don't have as much vocal range or belting or whatever as some other groups, but at the end of the day I think we really have lost the plot if we as a society think that a song only has artistic value from whatever pitches the singer can reach. For example, artists like TV girl are so loved despite having quite a monotone way of singing. Why? Because a lot of the value also lies in the beauty of the instrumental and the thought behind the lyrics. I find it to be the same for le sserafim too, where the members get a huge say in the lyrics of their own songs.

Okay so my last point is, THEY ARE HUMAN!!!! I don't Stan them because they are the number 1 vocal dance rap powerhouses in the world. Objectively all music groups are talented, because why would agencies have taken them on otherwise?? I genuinely don't care if my favourite artists rank at the top of whatever new competition people are trying to make happen. When you get lost in this, like many Stans have, it kind of just shows you don't care about the group anymore or what their music means to you. You only care about the numbers! And if we constantly pitch people against each other like this, there will quite literally be nobody left because this perfect idol people seem to be looking for just doesn't exist and never will.

Anyway in conclusion, Le sserafim peak, and someone liking a different group doesn't make anyone else's favourite less valid or talented.

Kudos: 2
