Bug encounters part 4!

here are my latest bug encounters :3

The rusty tussock moth aka The Vapourer (Orgyia antiqua)

(caterpillar form)

saw this guy while picking blueberries!

their moth form looks like this

Green shield bug (Palomena prasina)

(nymph)

- fun fact! they stink when they feel threatened (defense mechanism)

Goat moth (Cossus cossus)

(caterpillar form)

-fun fact! the caterpillar form period of these guys is extraordinarily long, up to 5 years! the moth form (aka adult form) lasts for only 2 weeks, they mate and lay eggs during this period. They also don't eat anything as moths (unlike as caterpillars when they munch on wood/cellulose, in Finnish their name is "tree destroyer" bcs of this)!
