Buying & Selling: The absolute bargain of a lifetime

Had a proper good night's sleep today. Haven't bin' with anyone yet 'cause my sister's off at her boyfriend's, so I'm feeling in a remarkably good mood. My brother asked me to help him clean his bedroom shelves, and I found some absolute gems. Like, the ENTIRE Patrick Bowers Files saga, IT (chapters 1 and 2), the actual reason why he's skint right now—a box set of Evangelion and Dandadan manga—and some banned books. I asked him what they were and turned out it was the whole A Song of Ice and Fire series, aka the mother of Game of Thrones.

God knows why, but he binned the saga off and hates those books like they personally murdered our mum. Because of that, we decided to go and flog them at a charity shop near us, and mate, walking in there was like arriving in Paradise City; but the grass isn't green and there were no girls who were pretty.Absolutely nothing in there was worth more than 30 reais — so, about 6 dollars. Found some media and comms titles, comics — the highlight being a Spider-Noir almanac for 50 quid. Wanted to bang my head against a brick wall for not noticing it in the shop window earlier—dictionaries and magazines.

Guess who bagged a magazine from over 30 years ago? Spot on, only cost me a fiver...

Collectors should proper consider hitting up charity shops. Heard this magazine (Geográfica Nacional) stopped printing back in the 90s.

The content is massive, so there's no way I'm finishing it anytime soon. Mind you, the photos are brilliant. So far I’ve read about Polish folk myths, breeds of jumping insects, the relationship between the US and Hawaii...

And in the end, we couldn't even flog the books there 'cause someone had already donated the series to the shop. I headed back home early while my brother went hunting for somewhere else to dump the lot
