Cakeverse ideas

So uhh I wasn't really sure how to tag this, but this is for the ones who write fanfiction and maybe want to write something with Cakeverse? I feel like it's still pretty obscure in English-speaking countries so I'll just give a quick summary of cakeverse then share a fun idea with some suggestions ^^

So cakeverse is an alternate universe where there are three kinds of people:

Normals, sometimes called 'plates' in some works - Normal people

Forks - People who can't taste food but can smell and taste the flavor of cake on some people

Cakes - People who smell and taste like cake to Forks.

As you can guess, once a Fork catches the scent or taste of a Cake, they have to fight a desire to eat the Cake. A Cake's bodily fluids like blood or tears can also smell and taste like cake, and some Forks can settle for that. But usually, the conflict leads to a fun little mix of romance and horror. I say 'fun' rather loosely.

One optional element that I find rather fun is that if you want to, you can write different Cake characters to have different flavors. One might wonder what kinds of flavors there are, and how one could even decide on a flavor. Well, I researched a bunch of different kinds of cakes, and this is only some of the kinds I learned about. I made three lists: widely known/established cakes, kinds of foreign cakes, and some unique kinds of cake. Feel free to use one of these lists, or maybe even all of them! :)

Widely known kinds of cake:

Sponge cake - Most cakes you get at the grocery store are probably sponge cakes. If you want to get a little more specific with a character's flavor, you could specifically make them a white or yellow sponge cake. Yellow sponge cake has egg yolks in it, and thus tends to have a richer taste and yellow color, while white sponge cake has no egg yolks and thus tastes a bit lighter and tends to look more white.

Chocolate cake - Pretty self explanatory

Lemon cake

Marble cake - Can't decide if your Cake character should taste like white cake or chocolate cake? Why not both? Marble cake has chocolate and white cake marbled together.

Strawberry shortcake

Carrot cake

A few foreign kinds of cake:

Asian fruit cream cake - I believe this refers to cakes like the ones you often see in anime with the strawberry slices and cream between layers of cake. I'm assuming from the name that it doesn't necessarily have to be strawberry tho. I could be wrong

Moon cake, a Chinese cake

Hummingbird/Doctor Bird cake, a Jamaican cake

Bolo de rolo, a Brazilian cake

Some unique kinds of cake:

Pound cake, could also do lemon pound cake

Red velvet cake

Spice cake, a cake with spices like cinnamon and often somewhat bread-like.

Angel food cake

Devil's food cake
