So ... I made $10.00/hour for an entire year and only during my last week did they give me a raise to $11.75. Not only this but I'm supposed to get backpay(?) for the month of October. Embarrassingly, I have to retract my 2 weeks notice because I haven't gotten any offers and only 2 interviews after applying to tens of jobs. It's only embarrassing because I already mentioned to multiple people that I was quitting. $11.75 is a lot better than no job and a lot better than $10. I should also get benefits in December when they re-evaluate who counts as part-/full-time. I do have an interview at a deli place but if they offer me less than $13/h or I just don't get a good impression I probably will be staying here... It sucks but my paychecks should go up at least $200 with that raise. I'm hoping I can get serious & put ~$1500 into savings each month -- achievable if I get 40h a week, difficult but possible if i get 35 -- but it's easier said than done, I kinda have a spending problem. But if i get over this spending problem and do save $1500/month I could probably move out within 8-10 months easily. All of that is so much easier in theory though.
