chatgpt rant

Hot take but chatgpt does not have a place in assignments that literally ask you to think for yourself. 

I was in theatre class and we had this homework to interpret what our characters were thinking during each line for our Shakespeare monologues and I glanced at the screen of the girl next to me and she was asking ChatGPT EVERYTHING. When ChatGPT wasn't telling her the information in a way she wanted it she would keep asking while the homework had no mega right answer, it was just to look into your character and write what you think was going through the character's mind. USUALLY I don't care but she was using AI when the assignment asked for you to put it together, yourself and it isn't like the ChatGPT issue is over, the guy I was paired up with was using ChatGPT TO FIND HIM A SHAKESPEARE MONOLOGUE, while there is a website with all of Shakespeare's monologues are on a website and separated by gender of the character. I don't even get why ChatGPT's on the allowed app list for our ipads, it's proven it decreases brain activity and technically promotes academic dishonesty.
