College - August 16th to August 22

i have officially finished my first week of college !! :D

I am most definitely enjoying my time in college. Being away from the pressure of graduating high school and parents and other annoying family has been extremely beneficial towards my mental health. Of course, I've been missing my friends, and I feel rather sad when I hear that they miss me too, but overall this week is proving to be a positive experience. It's nice to feel like an adult living an adult life, without some of the stressors.

This week, due to classes not starting until this upcoming Monday, I mostly got to look around the campus and meet my roommates. My roommates are certainly interesting, but I can see us making it work. Maybe not friends like some people try to be with their roommates, but at least friendly. To be honest, my biggest qualm currently is still holding on to High School issues. I feel like that college is supposed to be something that lets you grow from past things that have happened, but I feel like it's only made me think more of past mistakes, specifically with my friends. I know they say they miss me and share so much love, but idk :/ I'm hoping that I can maybe get over myself the more that school goes on, I'm assuming I'm just a little more emotional because of such a big change 😅

Overall, I don't have too much to share about this week, but I'm hoping that the upcoming week will be a little more interesting-- that's when a lot of events are going on, and a bunch of clubs will be starting !! I'll be sure that next Sunday I'll have things a little more exciting to share !! 

And now for a little weekly challenge: If you know someone starting college, maybe reassure them that things are going okay back at home, and you're still enjoying their presence, even if that presence isn't exactly right next to you anymore. I think they'd appreciate it just as much as I would right now :)
