Unfortunately, when a person says "I don't deserve you", there can be a kernel of truth to it. It's one thing to be dissatisfied with yourself and how you are, but saying and internalising such phrases is the beginning of accepting an inability to change. It sounds like the way she was treating you wasn't right, but you won't find any answers eternally quizzing your memory of things. It will only serve to drive you crazy. It's unkind to yourself to think in terms of "she led me on". "How am I going to recover from this?", I've had some experience loving and losing, and I can tell you the pain never really gets smaller, but in a sense, you get bigger. you will think of your heartbreak every day, but after a while, it will become every other day. Then it will become a week, a month, a few months, a year, then years. Be glad you're still so young, you have a lifetime of love left to get and give. |
