I feel the same way especially about people who shit on young mcr fans I get some of them can be annoying but they're not these evil posers people like to complain about. Most of them are tweens or young teenagers getting into this stuff for the first time, and mcr is often the gateway for a lot of people. Β I remember being 12/13 and thinking i was sooooo emo and edgy for being obsessed with them and it was a little cringe but it was fun and i matured past that. I'm almost 20 and mcr is still my favorite band but i've expanded so much on my knowledge of this subculture, including my politics, music and fashion taste.Β Give these tweenagers some time and they'll probably get there eventually, leave them be |

tbh, a long time ago I stopped wanting to stick to just one aesthetic because Iβm too lazy to deal with that kind of people. I still try to learn and try to agree with some stances of certain subcultures, but I got tired of trying to pretend at some point because of things like appearance. They tend to be way too elitist about what youβre supposed to wear. Obviously, I donβt choose to do things like shop at Shein or whatever, but I really enjoy mixing things that arenβt related to certain aesthetics and I like how it looks :p |

Yep. There was definitely a while where I acted like I knew everything about the subculture and I really had like zero actual knowledge about it. I wish I had other people in the subculture to get me heading in the right direction tbh. But I did eventually get to a point where I do now have a pretty good understanding. and Iβve been trying my best to hopefully be helpful, instead of an unaware gatekeepy asshole lol
