Socialism has not always failed and has helped lift millions out of poverty, most of the times it has failed was due to external pressures from capitalist countries bombing them, which usually doesn't make people want to stay there, especially if your rich. Also youre literally just describing capitalism when you say people are getting rich off the backs of workers. Under capitalism owners extract surplus value from workers to be able to get rich I mean that's why some people who work are not paid well enough like you said. |

Saying human nature can't allow socialism to work completely disregards the fact there are other ways humans can naturally act. Historically speaking, the only way humans could've made it this far was to work with each other which can observed in many ancient civilizations throughout the world where versions of proto socialism were prevelant. Even for the average selfish person socialism would benefit them more.

human nature is dictated by the environment they are living in, if we are forced to be greedy and compete to survive we will do that, if we live in an environment that forces cooperation and selflessness to survive we will also do that. For millennia we have survived as a species through working together.
Capitalism forces us to be selfish and greedy to survive, its that simple
