im not sure how i feel about the whole thing, i have a feeling that theres going to be a ton of adults on there which makes me not want to make an account at all. and i think there'll be more people moving there in a very short amount of time so itll be kind of chaotic. the mimic sites, if they remain up, would be quieter for sure... |

The biggest thing I'm scared of is the monetization of myspace like if they make specific memberships then get sites like these into legal trouble so that they can hold a monopoly on the "nostalgia bait" sites. Ugh yeah that's a valid concern. like knowing myspace has failed to take off for years even with the multiple efforts to revamp it, i can see the relaunch being very hostile to its mimic sites for the sake of upholding itself. while the creators may be genuine about their interest in the old myspace, to be hearing this right at a time where interest in the 2000s trends & internet is more notable, it does make me worry about how the more "established" social medias will take advantage of that (at the expense of current sites based on the 2000s internet) |

yeahhh me too. fair enough--i'd also assume there would be specifically older adults on there, which makes me more hesitant to make an account... other than the tiredness that comes with hoping to one social media to the next one. definitely so, which well the quietness may have its pros or cons depending on the mimic sites, but still will feel kind of weird to experience
