my parents are 40 but they were lowk like this... one of my earliest memories involving a computer is sitting on the floor watching my mom play the just monika portion of ddlc. my mom used to play me jpop and mlp music from her ipod and my parents would watch south park and strongbad email on the tv and i would hide behind the couch bc i wanted to watch too even tho they told me i had to leave. i have a vivid memory of snapping our copy of sonic racers in half because i didnt know how discs worked

aww this is sweet!!! my mom graduated highschool in 2000, and wasn't an emo teenager so i can't really relate...lol. i do have ONE cousin who's way older than me who was emo way back when though. it's so sick that you grew up with all that stuff ! 
it'd be sick to see the academy is perform in their prime . . . i did see the academy is here in jersey back in december...& got the flu...

dude that's so cool!! my mom also liked a lot of alt stuff but unfortunately didn't go to any conccerts due to there being none where she lived :(

I wish I had crazy cool stories to tell about my parents but I have cousins way older than me who were born in maybe the early to mid 90s who were part of the MySpace emo / scene era!!! I might have to ask them about it because I don't see them much

Also, mad respect for people who can play both piano and guitar (I'm currently learning piano but it might take me a while lol)

yooooo that's actually cool as hell! My mom used to be emo in the early 2000s when she was like, 16 or 17 and my dad knows how to play guitar
He even has an electric guitar but its in my backyards shed and he'll let me use it once I get good at guitar and he has an actually good amp (current one doesn't work)
but overall it's cool as hell, I'm actually planning to learn guitar myself but ATH comic making usually takes up most of my time (gosh bryan lee o malley makes this look so easy)
