When you have two extremes going against one another, it's a recipe for conflict. If either side were to admit that the other had a good point, their audience would begin to question their own judgement and where their allegiance belongs to. It's why they paint their enemies as violent, misguided or ignorant. Makes it easier to fall in line when your opponent can't be reasoned with. |
