Did you know this domino effect actually reached Latin America? Well, back around 2010, in the early days of Brazilian YouTube when content was way more raw, there was this guy called Felipe Neto. He’d only just started his channel but was already famous for his charisma (and rages). One of the most famous segments on his channel was called ''Não Faz Sentido'' [It Makes No Sense], where he basically ranted about pop culture. The video that blew his channel up was the one about Twilight, mocking the film because, let’s face it, the saga is terrible. Felipe has a brother called Luccas, who had a similar video style at the time, so the fame rubbed off on him, since it’s obvious Felipe milked the success of ''Não Faz Sentido'' to post more videos. A few years passed, and YouTube got stricter regarding content posted on the site, so the brothers changed their content in different ways. Felipe toned down his videos a bit but stayed sharp for the teen audience, while Luccas completely rebranded his online persona, a character called ''Hater Sincero'' [Sincere Hater]. Luccas' success with the kids' content was so huge that his channel reached other countries, including Portugal, a country that, duh, doesn't have many people who like Brazil. There were reports of disappointed parents because their kids were speaking Brazilian Portuguese instead of Portuguese from Portugal. Felipe isn't far behind either, being one of the most famous Brazilian channels over here. And all of this just because he made a video slagging off Twilight and J.K. Rowling, ha. |

Nice, but I'm gonna go kinda off-topic here.... 9/11 was definitely a huge sign of an ending of 1990's in General. In Professional Wrestling, WCW getting sold by Turner/AOL after Turner and AOL Corporately merged although Ted Turner doesn't want to and wants to keep it going but because of the Corporate Merge and many in the board apparently hated Professional Wrestling there's not much he can do. ECW unfortunately going into bankruptcy. In Video Games, Sega unfortunately leaving the Video Game Console Market and Sega Dreamcast abruptly getting discontinued. (Though Sega Dreamcast in Japan is still having some games released for it up until 2007 and these are Ports of Sega NAOMI Arcade Games.) |
