How 9/11 caused the Ellen Degeneres Downfall (among other things) - A Review

Hi! So I am autistic and my special interest for many years has been how 9/11 led to the band My Chemical Romance, Twilight, 50 Shades of Grey and the downfall of Ellen Degeneres...among other things

I hope you enjoy this review of events.

Everything starts on September 11th 2001 and the absolutely tragic event that occurred. Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance was in New York working as an intern for Cartoon Network. Seeing this event caused Way to revaluate his perspective on life and went into music, co-founding MCR and writing their debut song "Skylines and Turnstiles".

My Chemical Romance was a huge inspiration to Stephanie Meyer, author of Twilight, and when the book was made into films MCR were offered to make some music for Twilight: New Moon - they declined. This lead to Way writing a song called "Vampire Money" and years later the band breaks up. Whilst still in MCR, Way gets into writing and makes the comic series The Umbrella Academy which is made into a TV show by Netflix for 4 seasons. 

Twilight is hugely popular and fan-fiction writer E.L James writes a BDSM fan-fiction of it which then later gets published as 50 Shades of Grey. Here the story gets separated into many different branches which I will try to make sense. 

1) 50 Shades of Grey to Ellen cancellation: So the lead actress of 50SOG is Dakota Johnson and when she was invited onto the Ellen show, Ellen accused Johnson of not inviting her to a birthday party; at which Johnson calls out Ellen, saying she is lying "Well Ellen, that isn't actually true". Previous and current Ellen staff then start speaking out on Ellen's behaviours and the Ellen Show is cancelled. 

2) How Twilight made Oppenheimer happen: Twilight was the breakout role for Robert Pattinson and he is then cast in many other movies...like Tenet which was made by none other than Christopher Nolan. At the Tenet wrap party, Pattinson gifts Nolan a book of Oppenheimer's speeches; Nolan reads this and then reads the book "American Prometheus" because he became so interested in it. Nolan then creates the movie Oppenheimer. 

3) Twilight led to Good Omens being made into a TV Show: Well kind of. Michael Sheen who plays Aro of the Volturi in Twilight spent the whole Twilight press tour defending the fantasy genre in books. Author Neil Gaiman (who is a terrible person but this was not publicly known until a few years ago) sees Sheen defending the fantasy genre and sends him many of his books. The two become friends and Sheen is heavily interested in the Good Omen adaptation project which is then eventually made. After Gaiman's scandals are revealed, seemingly every adaptation of a Gaiman-project is cancelled (Good Omens, Sandman, etc). 

4) How Twilight led to the reunion tour of MCR: This one is just a funny joke but also is kind of true; but Way did watch Pattinson in The Batman and liked it. When MCR went on the reunion tour, they performed "Vampire Money" where Way praises Pattinson and talks about his love for his acting. 

Gerard way focuses more on his comic career when MCR broke up and wrote a run of the DC team Doom Patrol. When the Doom Patrol TV show is created, it is in part to Way's comic series, one of the main characters is played by Brendan Fraser - this marks the start of the Brenaissance with a launch of his return to the entertainment industry and Hollywood. Fraser is cast in the movie The Whale during this Brenaissance and he won a lot of awards for this.

So what can we say definitively? 

This is all apart of the Butterfly Effect, a small change in the start can cause a huge unplanned difference later. 

9/11 led to the formation of MCR, which aided in the inspiration for twilight, which did many things later down the line.
