That's a very interesting take. I haven't seen that movie in so long I can't actually remember any of that, but it's more like the norm to us outside the US to see most movies just centered in the States. About the female representation, that sounds uncomfortable. The Aerosmith song must be the best part about the whole movie. |

I mean, ofc it's american centered.People in the movie's universe be like: "THE ENDING IS COMING" MOTHERFUCKER ONLY THE STATES ARE FUCKED THE REST OF US WILL LIVE HAPPY AFTER THAT YEAH!! i WILL give it to them though, at the beginning they mention that any country not located in the Pacific region will not be impacted directly by collision but will suffer from a long winter and die due to crop failure or whatever …. still tho. it would’ve been nice if they showed cooperation with other countries instead of the whole cliche “American saviours of the whole world” trope….. mindless american propaganda to me! by pyroteknyk; (edited); Report |
it’s true. it’s strangely normalised even outside the US… maybe it’s because they tend to dominate the film industry.
But yes! Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing is by far the best part of the soundtrack :’] beautiful song from a wonderful band.
