I have been feeling that same way for awhile. It's just sad what society has become. I was using Spacehey for a few months, but it became very slow and I wasn't really meeting people or chatting with anyone on there. Thought it could be fun to try this one out. Now, if I can only try to figure out the layout thing...

Monitesation of the internet was the acceleration of its demise along with smartphones and A.I; we can't tell what is real anymore and what is not, influencers photoshop and filter their photos online skewing peoples understanding of real life and beauty, smartphones gave access to the internet at all times in all places for all people (big mistake), algorithims are never ending, people make videos for money instead of for fun, and then there are the bots. A.I is starting to generate profiles you think are human but aren't, bots are pretending to be people, and people are starting to talk like bots, places like TikTok, I.G, YT exist to harvest your attention, sell your data to advertisers, and make money. Influencers exist to keep you on those platforms with attention-grabbing videos and lies and deception. People no longer respect one anothers privacy, people are talking to A.I more than they talk to people, there has been a normalisation of constantly filming yourself 24/7 and posting it whether what you're presenting to others is truly reality or not, not to mention the censorship by these platforms and people self-censoring themselves AND the parroting of opinons they've seen online and usage of buzzwords with no nuance or critical thought. It's worse than bad. People need to build third spaces outside of these platforms because the corporations are not going to do it for us. It's only going to get worse.
